| PROFILE
Born and raised in Vancouver, Jack has a broad range of job
experience and has traveled extensively throughout Europe
and the Middle East. In 1979, he was accepted into the UBC
School of Architecture where he went on to graduate with Bachelor
of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts (History Major) degrees.
Jack has cultivated his own unique vision of architecture
through his travel experiences. One trip that particularly
effected him was his visit to the American Midwest to view
the buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1991 he spent several
months traveling through Japan, where he gained not only an
understanding of that country's unique culture, but also developed
an appreciation of the unique design principles that have
influenced numerous architectural talents who have been inspirational
to him.
He currently works from his home studio in Richmond, B.C.
where he resides with his wife and two young children.
PROCESS
The small size of Jack Falk Design Studio allows us
to combine a traditional, service oriented approach to the
design process along with computer technology. This enable
us to stay actively involved with each project throughout
the process. By working extremely close with both the owner
and a selected contractor throughout the design process, we
are able to guarantee that the owner's design expectations
and budget remain compatible thus eliminating unpleasant surprises
during construction.
DESIGN
We have no signature style, but do have a very specific
approach to design which allows your homes to evolve from
a thorough understanding of the clients' program and personalities,
the site, the budget and appropriate examples of regional
architecture. Our commitment to the process allows each project
to develop its own unique set of concerns, ideas and images.
